Teal and Pewter

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? I hope you had a great 4th of July! I had an absolutely amazing birthday and a great 4th. My little one and I went on a little weekend get away and it was HOT. I mean literally HOT! How about 107 degrees in the shade HOT.  

Vacationing in the desert among Joshua Trees and Cactus was quite relaxing and fun. We spent a lot of time in the pool and just enjoying nature. The weather has been quite warm and lately I have been wearing almost nothing but maxi dresses. I am also shopping my own closet and remixing things I already have and I love finding new ways to wear clothes that are already in my closet. I still manage to thrift here and there because it is so much like going on a treasure hunt:-)

I have been enjoying preparing lots of great summer foods so I hope you are loving my recipes and many of them are very simple, so even if you think you can't cook or don't like to, I've got something for you too:-)  Just browse my recipe index for some ideas.

Today I am wearing a simple ensemble of jeans and a pewter and teal emerald greenish shirt. Those may not sound like summer colors, but they are very vibrant and lovely together. What are some of your favorite color combinations?

Teal and Gray

 

Happy Monday loves! How was your weekend? We are having a heatwave in my neck of the woods and I surely wish it were over. I love weather that is nice enough for wearing lightweight clothes, but not so hot that you start sweating as soon as you step outside. I had a busy weekend and a few challenges, but life always has challenges and it is our attitude that determines our altitude. I have some thought provoking stuff I want to share with you and I will be getting up close and personal with you with a  post  that will make you ponder life in a different way. Isn't life more than pretty clothes and shoes?  That post is coming soon and I have a fun one that will make you smile:-) Can't wait to share them with you!

Orange Peacock

 Happy Monday loves! How was your weekend? Mine was great, but I must admit, I am sick of this heat! I went to one of my favorite farmers markets. Read about it here and I also tried a new restaurant with a friend and wore a vibrant, bright, flirty, summery orange dress with some peacock accents. It has certainly been scorching and when the temperature rises, I live in summer dresses. How about you? 

My dress actually came from Forever 21 and these days lots of folks way past 21 shop there including myself, LOL They have great accessories and you can get staple items for great prices. I am still working my way through my birthday gift cards, and I found one for F-21 in the stash and did not hesitate to grab this cute dress.  I shop everywhere.  Where do you like to shop?

This clutch is one of my favorites. I have a serious obsession with clutches. They are timeless. Items like classic sheaths and clutches never go out of style. I tend to update  my wardrobe with accessories. Have you heard the saying, its easier to update the rugs and pillows rather than buying a new  sofa? I apply that same concept to clothes. Indulge in a fun trendy item here and there, but invest the  most in classic pieces that are always chic and never dated because they are timeless.

 I love denim or motorcycle jackets with girlie dresses. What are some of your favorite looks?
