Feeling Orange

Happy Thursday loves! Almost forgot to post this week. Actually today it is a scorching 91 degrees, so the outfit I am wearing was worn before this heatwave. I am actually packing away my fur because it looks like it is time to break out my cute spring and summer outfits:-)  This weekend I am planning to celebrate my sons birthday and planning to have a blast with him on his spring break next week. That means nonstop fun and of course with me and my foodie in training, lots of good eats!

Since my son's officially birthday will take place on spring break, I had planned on taking cupcakes to his school like I usually do and his teacher told me that bringing treats was not allowed in her class because it makes  the other kids whose parents don't do it for their birthdays, feel bad. So she has one big birthday celebration at the end of the year for the whole class. I was a little bummed that I couldn't bring cupcakes, but my little guy still has a great celebration coming this weekend that will knock his socks off:-)

Loving the nice weather, but I can do without 91 degrees. For me 75-80 is perfect weather. Not too hot and not too cold.

I keep wanting to get back to my regular posting schedule because I have so many great recipes to post and great restaurants to share with you, but since I am so busy these days,one post a week might be my new normal until things slow down a little.

Stripes

Happy Tuesday loves!  Where has this summer gone?  My little guy is already back in school and I am so busy I almost have no time to post at all, but I wanted to show you my striped ensemble. I love stripes. One of my favorite ways to wear black and white stripes is to add a vibrant POP of color. This look is a simple black and white striped blazer with a silk shell and black slacks with strappy sandals. 

My life will be back to normal soon and then I will be updating my blog on a more consistent basis. How has your summer been? So do you love stripes too? :-)

Vanilla Mint

 Happy Monday Loves! I hope you had a great weekend. Mine was relaxing, and exciting and amazing and great in so many ways. Its been hectic, so I apologize for not posting anything last week. My social calendar is full these days and I am working on all kinds of exciting projects and meeting phenomenal people:-) I am excited about my upcoming birthday in July and I am looking forward to attending a high tea this coming weekend. Don't you love an excuse to wear a big beautiful hat and get dressed up? I know I do!

This shade of aqua/mint pairs nicely with cream and so many other colors

I paired my ensemble with a lightweight trench jacket, which is perfect for balmy spring days

I love these Sam Edelman T-Strap shoes. They are not sky high heels, but they are stylish and super comfortable. It is always a plus to find a great shoe that is comfortable to wear all day long

Can you tell I've been to the beach? We have been having some serious beach weather in Cali lately

I love the way white on white looks with a POP of color. Do you like this combo?

Blue + Orange and White =Taupe

Happy Monday loves! How is your week starting off? In my neck of the woods, we are having summer weather, so I am enjoying wearing things I would normally wear in spring or summer. Sometimes I wish I could buy more fabulous statement coats, but with warm weather year round, they would be a waste of money, so I cherish the ones I have. I have been feeling like I need a blog vacation. Do you ever feel like that? I cannot believe I have been blogging almost three years. Wow! the time went by so fast. To celebrate the blog anniversary in February, there will be a pretty awesome giveaway.

The one thing I have not enjoyed about entering giveaways is all the hoops you have to jump through to enter and for that reason, this one is going to be simple and there will be three winners to celebrate the three years. Only current followers have the option of winning the grand prize and the other two winners are eligible for the secondary prize. So there is an opportunity for old and new readers, YAY!

I have been playing with colors, patterns and textures and putting things together that I normally would not put together, like this orange and white shirt paired with this blue blazer. What do you think?

I love that these booties are comfortable. I can walk blocks and blocks without my feet hurting, but I have plenty of shoes that make my feet hurt after walking a block or two, so I tend to keep flats in my purse when I wear them.

This bag is such a great shade of blue and looks good with just about every color of the rainbow

I love the color and patterns on these bracelets. It might be a little matchy matchy, but I loved how they looked with this blue blazer. If you like bracelets like this, you can find them in Indian Clothing Boutiques.

Sunshine

 Happy Monday loves! I hope your weekend was as wonderful as mine was:-) I went on a little getaway and I just felt completely refreshed when I came home. Last week I was feeling lethargic and devoid of any energy, but today I feel like the energizer bunny. I am wearing yellow which is a color that always makes me feel happy when I wear it.  Yellow always reminds me of sunny days and how much of a joy it is to bring warmth and light to others, rather than darkness.
