Orange Skittle

Hey Loves! I have been missing in action for a long time. Three months to be exact. I just didn't feel like blogging and wanted to focus on other things in my life, but I am back! It is fall and we are still having summer weather, so these are recent summer photos that I never posted.

There is nothing like a burst of color and this vibrant orange dress makes me feel like a skittle:-)  This shirt dress has been getting heavy rotation in my closet because it is to easy to style and wear different ways. I have worn it paired with nude shoes and accessories and I recently wore this with a pair of vibrant multicolored strappy sandals. This can easily be winterized by pairing with boots and a scarf.

Dress: H&M, Clutch: Target, Sandals: JC Penney old)

I think gold always looks great against orange, but I decided to pair with silver and pewter accessories

Have an amazing day!

Stripes

Happy Tuesday loves!  Where has this summer gone?  My little guy is already back in school and I am so busy I almost have no time to post at all, but I wanted to show you my striped ensemble. I love stripes. One of my favorite ways to wear black and white stripes is to add a vibrant POP of color. This look is a simple black and white striped blazer with a silk shell and black slacks with strappy sandals.

My life will be back to normal soon and then I will be updating my blog on a more consistent basis. How has your summer been? So do you love stripes too? :-)

Bumblebee

Happy Monday loves!  I know I sound like a broken record every time I apologize for my lack of posting due to my schedule, but life has been hectic, but in a good way. I had a great weekend. How was yours?  In just a couple of weeks I get to celebrate my birthday. YAY!With the hot weather lately, I have been wearing more summer looks. Today I am wearing goldenrod and black. This color combination reminds me of a bumblebee:-)

Goldenrod peplum top: JC Penney, Black Pants:Michael Kors, Clutch: Ebay, Shoes: Shoe Dazzle
I have been loving mint green on my nails lately
There is something very sassy about peplums that I like. Although the peplum has become a trend, a peplum is still a very classic look and never really goes out of style

Do you like yellow and black?

Have an amazing day!

Blue + Orange and White =Taupe

Happy Monday loves! How is your week starting off? In my neck of the woods, we are having summer weather, so I am enjoying wearing things I would normally wear in spring or summer. Sometimes I wish I could buy more fabulous statement coats, but with warm weather year round, they would be a waste of money, so I cherish the ones I have. I have been feeling like I need a blog vacation. Do you ever feel like that? I cannot believe I have been blogging almost three years. Wow! the time went by so fast. To celebrate the blog anniversary in February, there will be a pretty awesome giveaway.

The one thing I have not enjoyed about entering giveaways is all the hoops you have to jump through to enter and for that reason, this one is going to be simple and there will be three winners to celebrate the three years. Only current followers have the option of winning the grand prize and the other two winners are eligible for the secondary prize. So there is an opportunity for old and new readers, YAY!

Do you like giveaways? Do you ever enter them?

I have been playing with colors, patterns and textures and putting things together that I normally would not put together, like this orange and white shirt paired with this blue blazer. What do you think?

Blue Blazer: H&M, Orange and White Shirt: JC Penney, Jeans: Metro, Bag: Sharif, Taupe Booties: Urban Original, Bracelets: Indian Boutique, Chain Necklace: F-21

I love that these booties are comfortable. I can walk blocks and blocks without my feet hurting, but I have plenty of shoes that make my feet hurt after walking a block or two, so I tend to keep flats in my purse when I wear them.

This bag is such a great shade of blue and looks good with just about every color of the rainbow

I love the color and patterns on these bracelets. It might be a little matchy matchy, but I loved how they looked with this blue blazer. If you like bracelets like this, you can find them in Indian Clothing Boutiques.

Do you live in a climate where you get to wear amazing coats?

Have an amazing day!

Sunshine

Happy Monday loves! I hope your weekend was as wonderful as mine was:-) I went on a little getaway and I just felt completely refreshed when I came home. Last week I was feeling lethargic and devoid of any energy, but today I feel like the energizer bunny. I am wearing yellow which is a color that always makes me feel happy when I wear it.  Yellow always reminds me of sunny days and how much of a joy it is to bring warmth and light to others, rather than darkness.

Do you have colors that make you feel extra happy?

Polka dots make me happy too:-)

Yellow top: JC Penney, Polka Dot Scarf: F-21, Purse: Love Culture: Boots: Urban OG, Pants: Specialty Boutique

Inner peace is that feeling that anchors you when
things are not perfect, but you know that after a storm is a rainbow:-)

I always daydream when I am in peaceful settings. What about you?

A little pattern mixing. I love dots and stripes. Do you like to mix patterns?

Have an amazing day and an even better week!

Rasberry and Orange Sherbet

Happy Monday Loves! How was your weekend? I cannot believe we are in the month of August. Where does all the time go? I organized my closet and by the time I was done I had three gigantic bags of clothes to donate.  Would you believe that even after that, I still had a ton of clothes?
I think most women love clothes and shoes, so its no surprise that most of us accumulate a lot over time. Do you ever look back at things you used to love and then feel like your style has evolved and you don't like it anymore? I think we have all had those moments.  It seems like I am having a lot of those lately. I think it comes with getting older, but I don't think getting older means you can't dress with style and flair.
Fall is just around the corner, but I am still loving bold bright ensembles like this orange white and pink combo. What I love about these pieces is that they can easily be remixed into a fall look. The weather has been a little cool recently, so I layered my dress with this bold orange and white button down. I am looking forward to pulling out my boots and scarves and I know it won't be too long because the days are already starting to have a chilly bite in the evening and little by little the days are getting shorter.

What are your favorite fall looks?

Shirt: JC Penney, Dress: Old Navy, Purse: Maxx New York, Shoes: Private Boutique
I love the hardware detail on this bag

Vibrant and colorful, just the way I like it:-)

Have a great day!

Joy!

Happy Monday! How was your weekend and how is your week starting off? As you can see, I am still very much enjoying the vibrant colors I wore in the spring and summer and I see no reason to dress like I am going to a funeral just because it is fall.  I have had some wonderful things happen in the midst of some craziness.

GOD is pretty amazing! So I am basking in the joy that comes with an unexpected blessing. Aren't those the best?

I am wearing white pants after Labor Day. Do people really listen to those ridiculous fashion rules. Who made that up anyway?

Yes, I wear this clutch a lot, but it is a DIY with the help of one of my crafty friends and I can't get enough of it.

Palm Trees, you gotta love Los Angeles :-)

Blazer: F-21, Clutch: DIY, Shoes: JC Penney

 Peace that surpasses all understanding...

Have you ever had something amazing happen to you unexpectedly? Or a prayer answered in a completely different way than you thought?  Sometimes we wait on GOD and he is actually waiting on us:-)

I find that I experience the most excitement and joy when I do things that I love. How about you?  Whatever the thing is that energizes you and makes you feel the most alive is what you should be doing all the time. So are you doing it? If not, what are you waiting for?
