North on South Street

Hey Loves! Spring is upon us. It's a new season. With new seasons come growth and with growth comes change. If something isn't growing, it's dying. Growth is not always an easy thing, but it is always the best thing. The final destination in our journeys are very rarely a straight path.

There are unexpected curves, peaks and valley's and time in the desert. Sometimes the journey takes us in strange directions and no map can guide you because there are some places we arrive at only by the grace of God. The lesson is usually in the journey and what you learn along the way. Experience is a great teacher, especially when you are a willing student.

Skittles

I am enjoying these last days of summer so much. I had a great weekend with my little guy. We enjoyed some time at the beach and had a great time and I also got a chance to catch up with friends that I hadn't seen in a while. Quite a few of you have sent emails requesting to see more of my inspirational writing and recipes. You will see some great stuff coming up. The warm weather we have been having made me want to wear orange, which is among one of my favorite colors. I found this cute orange dress hiding in the back of my closet.

Most people know that I love bold colors. They just make me happy:-) These bold candy colored hues remind me of a pack of skittles. There is something I love about the color orange and yellow is my happy color. I decided to anchor these two bold colors with a  neutral blazer and a clutch that has a deep rich hue of purple and orange. Perfect summertime colors!
You definitely do not blend into background wearing colors like this. What bold color combos do you like?

I love wearing rings even though I am starting to have a touch of old lady hands, LOL
Blazer: Bergdorf Goodman (old )Dress: H&M, Pumps: Urban Original, Clutch: Fashion District, Rings: H&M and Private boutique

I love the color and detail on this clutch. Do you like it?
These shoes are like the sun. So bright!

I really love statement jewelry. How about you?
Have an amazing day!

Blue + Orange and White =Taupe

Happy Monday loves! How is your week starting off? In my neck of the woods, we are having summer weather, so I am enjoying wearing things I would normally wear in spring or summer. Sometimes I wish I could buy more fabulous statement coats, but with warm weather year round, they would be a waste of money, so I cherish the ones I have. I have been feeling like I need a blog vacation. Do you ever feel like that? I cannot believe I have been blogging almost three years. Wow! the time went by so fast. To celebrate the blog anniversary in February, there will be a pretty awesome giveaway.

The one thing I have not enjoyed about entering giveaways is all the hoops you have to jump through to enter and for that reason, this one is going to be simple and there will be three winners to celebrate the three years. Only current followers have the option of winning the grand prize and the other two winners are eligible for the secondary prize. So there is an opportunity for old and new readers, YAY!

Do you like giveaways? Do you ever enter them?

I have been playing with colors, patterns and textures and putting things together that I normally would not put together, like this orange and white shirt paired with this blue blazer. What do you think?

Blue Blazer: H&M, Orange and White Shirt: JC Penney, Jeans: Metro, Bag: Sharif, Taupe Booties: Urban Original, Bracelets: Indian Boutique, Chain Necklace: F-21

I love that these booties are comfortable. I can walk blocks and blocks without my feet hurting, but I have plenty of shoes that make my feet hurt after walking a block or two, so I tend to keep flats in my purse when I wear them.

This bag is such a great shade of blue and looks good with just about every color of the rainbow

I love the color and patterns on these bracelets. It might be a little matchy matchy, but I loved how they looked with this blue blazer. If you like bracelets like this, you can find them in Indian Clothing Boutiques.

Do you live in a climate where you get to wear amazing coats?

Have an amazing day!

Seeing Red...

Happy Monday loves!
This time of year red is everywhere, but I really love this color even when it's not Christmas season. A man once gave me a great compliment by saying that I should wear bright colors often and then he said: "Orange, Red, you own them, they were made for you girl" So how can I not wear it, LOL.

For those that are not aware of the  $150.00 JollyChic shopping spree giveaway, you really don't want to miss out on this. I promise it is worth it and I would not refer you to any site that I would not shop at myself. For the official rules to enter the giveaway click here. This is a really great giveaway so don't sleep on it.

The ensemble I am wearing is one of my favorite casual looks. Blazer, jeans and cute oxfords. When I run around town with my son or want to look put together, but unfussy, I favor this type of look because it is cute and comfortable. My red blazer is complemented with a subtle pattern mix of stripes and checkers and a snazzy pair of borrowed from the boys oxfords. Be sure to check out www.notdeadyetstyle.blogspot.com and GlossyBlonde to participate in a fun linkup:-)

Red Blazer: Metrostyle, Striped tank: H&M, Scarf: LA Fashion District, Clutch: DIY, Jeans: New York and Company (old), Oxfords: Urban Original

I just love a cute oxford. I have several pairs. Do you like oxfords?

I am big on comfort and these shoes are stylish and great for walking.

Everytime I wear these glasses, someone makes a joke about me looking like a sexy schoolteacher
What do you wear when you are running around town casually?
A little subtle pattern mixing with stripes and checkers. This H&M striped tank is so versatile and I find myself wearing it a lot. I wear my different pieces remixed into different looks and get a lot of wear out of my clothing this way.

Have a wonderful day! Be sure to enter the giveaway. There is nothing like the doorbell ringing with a package for you:-)
