Around the corner...

Happy Tuesday! I hope you had a wonderful Easter. I cannot believe it has been two weeks since I have done a blog post, but sometimes life happens. It has been a very busy time for me. Last week my son was on spring break and that time was devoted to having fun with him and we did so many fun activities including horseback riding and  our tradition of making resurrection rolls for Easter and since I was in a baking mood, my son challenged me to make cinnamelts better than the ones he loves to get from McDonalds.

Excuse me? I think he forgot that mom always slays in the kitchen. I don't need to tell you who won that bet, and just to show you how good they were, their will be a blog post with the recipe later this week.

Now that spring break is over, I am back to life as usual, which includes some exciting projects:-) And I am just loving all the wonderful surprises life has been sending my way. I have a feeling that there is even more around the corner. I can't wait!

Today I am wearing a very casual look with a cobalt blue silk top, jeans and leopard pumps. You do know about my obsession with animal print, right?

Spring weather just makes me want to be outdoors all the time. There is nothing like a drive up pacific coast highway on a beautiful spring day. What do you love the most about spring?

Kind of Blue

Happy Tuesday! Kind of Blue is the name of a song by Miles Davis that I love. I thought it was the perfect title for this blog post since I am wearing  a vibrant blue skirt. This is truly starting off to be a great summer. I went to a party and reconnected with some old friends and I am looking forward to celebrating my birthday next Monday.

I am just happy to be here to celebrate another birthday and living life more abundantly. It bothers me when people refer to the day they were born as just another day. It is never just another day. The day you came to be should be celebrated and you have to cherish each birthday that you are here. Right? So I am looking forward to some fun celebrations and of course I will share some of them with you:-)

How do you feel about birthdays? Do you have any special birthday traditions?

I have loved oversize hoops ever since I was in high school. Hoop earrings never go out of style and even if they did, I would probably wear them anyway
One of my favorite pairs of boots. Edgy, unique and comfortable

 Do I look mean?
Its a new dawn, a new day and i am walking into it...

Blue Velvet

Although I have worked in corporate America for many years, I have never been a suit person. I prefer to find unique pieces and mix them together. I love a great blazer and eye popping accessories. My style always includes lots of bold colorful accessories. When I saw these  cobalt blue pumps, they had just the right amount of she-lectricity!  I had to have them! They add the right amount of punch to any outfit and can take a classic business look or a very simple pair of jeans to the next level. I paired them with a classic tailored black and white blazer, black cigarette pants and an over sized satchel. These are my perfect transition into spring, although I don't follow fashion rules, color is meant to be explored winter, spring summer and fall!

I really have a thing for handbags, especially BIG ones!
I guess you can say I have a thing for shoes too...
