Serene Green

Happy Monday loves! Hope you had a great weekend. I have been extremely busy, but also having lots of fun. With spring and summer come lots of fun events and this time of year I tend to get very involved in planning spring teas and attending women's high tea events.  I had a great time last year with my Audrey Hepburn Breakfast at Tiffany's inspired High Tea. You can see photos from last year, by clicking here.   I have a few coming up that I am really  looking forward to and I will be sure to post lots of photos:-) In addition to being a sports mom and my work projects, I am very busy in women's ministry as well. There are not enough hours in the day, but doing things that bless other people is priceless.

I am loving the beautiful sunny days and looking forward to wearing my bright spring and summer colors. The outfit I am wearing is a very simple denim and classic white shirt with a bright kelly green colored bag and nude heels. Classic and chic with the shoes and bag as the punctuation marks in my outfit.

Don't you love pretty jewelry? I know I do

I love the way the green stands out against everything else

Feeling so good these days

Would you believe these shoes are actually comfy? I am big on shoes that don't hurt my feet. These are another shoe in my collection that are ok to wear for extended time without aching feet.

Beautiful flowers blooming everywhere. Another thing I love about spring

I can't wait to share with you all some of the projects I have been working on. Stay tuned!

Have a great day!

Clashing plaids and stripes

Now that the holidays are over, I have been working hard on getting my sweet tooth in check. My green smoothies made with my nutribullet have just about erased my obsession with all things sugary. I hung out with a friend in Little Tokyo and passed up the Green Tea Mochi Ice Cream that I usually can't resist. Little Tokyo has so many great restaurants if you love all varieties of Asian food, which I do! This is such a great spot to grab some tea or have a great lunch or dinner. I will be posting about some of my favorite dining spots in this area soon:-)

I have some very subtle pattern mixing going on with with my stripes and plaids. It is a clash of sorts, but I think it works. I am participating in a link party with DC Style. Join us by clicking here

Do you have any holiday eating to undo? LOL

Twist of Lime

Happy Tuesday loves! Did you watch the inauguration yesterday? Or better yet, were you lucky enough to attend? Lots of my friends went and I wish I could have been there, but I got to experience it vicariously through them.  I am loving the warm weather that has replaced the icy winter mornings and the days are starting to get a little longer. Feels like a warm spring day and I am loving it:-) This weather was perfect for enjoying an afternoon at the California Science Center.

As a lot of you know, one of my obsessions is thrifting. Even in high school, I used to love to scour thrift stores on Melrose to find unique pieces to mix into my wardrobe. I love full skirts and vintage looking dresses, so I was thrilled to find this cute lime skirt for three bucks at a local thrift store. You can really find some treasures if you have the patience to look for them. Have you found any great thrifted items lately?

The science center has great scenery

Woosh! I love how much movement a full skirt has

Can you believe this beautiful skirt was only $3.00?

A Day in the life...

Happy Wednesday loves! I hope you are having a great week. It has been a while since I have done a fashion post. Life has been hectic so I had been focusing on other aspects of the blog. This time of year is always busy for me and my little guy with all of our fun holiday activities.  I always love doing the food posts and showing you fast and easy ways to have a great meal at home,  but I was missing my outfit posts, so here is a classic look with some edgy accessories.

I love blazers and you can wear them with anything and look pulled together. I am almost embarrassed to admit how many black blazers I own. The one I am wearing is a mens jacket, but bears a striking resemblance to a blazer I purchased from F-21. I own a lot of black blazers, but the shape, cut and fabrics are different on all of them. These shoes have a fun mixed animal print that  I love. The rainy weather we have been having in my neck of the woods, kept me in, but now the weather is nice so I wore this outfit, which works so perfectly for this time of year.

I am almost done holiday shopping. I always shop for loved ones throughout the year when I see a great deal and just save it for Christmas, but I also do a little shopping during the holiday season. Have you started shopping yet? I also make a lot of gifts from my kitchen and we all love a good treat right? LOL

I am not sure how I would describe these shoes, but they instantly caught my eye when I bought them a few years ago.
I love fun accessories, I think they work if you pair it with the right clothes.
I love the holidays, but like a lot of women, the decadent eating puts lots of extra curves on me that I didn't ask for:-)
