Neutral and Black

Happy Wednesday! Just a quick post. Busy Busy Busy, but the best kind of busy:-)  Looking forward to a few fun events this weekend. Hope your week is off to a good start. Most people associate bold color and animal print as a part of my signature look, which is definitely true, but I also love neutral colors because they blend so seamlessly with everything and are timeless.

Today I am wearing a simple ensemble of taupe and black and I love this strappy cage heels. I used to have a white pair many years ago and they were one of my favorite shoes to wear in the spring and summer.

These black pants are becoming my favorite go to pants because they are so comfortable and I wear them often. These heels and bag are one of my favorite parts of this outfit.

Enjoy the week!

Leopard Love

Happy Monday Loves! Time flies when you are busy. Are you excited about Valentines Day?
I am looking so forward to it. I have a very busy weekend starting with a brunch get together with friends, and then my Valentines tradition of taking my son on a date and then there is time set aside for me to enjoy a Valentines Day celebration of my own with Mystery Man. What are your plans?

If you have been following my blog awhile or you know me offline, then you know how much I love animal print of all kinds. I love to accent my wardrobe with a little meow mix:-) Do you like animal print? Today I am wearing a neutral palette with a pop of color from my shoes. The duster I am wearing is one of favorites because it is a simple and timeless cut. I still remember when my aunt bought this for me from Bergdorf Goodman when I was visiting her in New York. Every time I wear this duster I think about New York.

I think these shoes are the perfect punctuation mark on any outfit

I am participating in a fun shoe link up with: Style Nudge
and a link up with Not Dead Yet Style
Be sure to stop over and join in the fun:-)

Are you a fan of neutral color palettes?

Camel is definitely one of my favorite neutral colors

I am already imagining the Valentines Day cupcakes me and my son are going to have:-)

It has been awhile, but now I am back to posting recipes. I am always making things, but sometimes I am just way to busy to take photographs and blog everything I cook. I have been making a lot more salads recently and enjoying green smoothies and lots of water with fresh fruit, but I certainly love to indulge every now and again and especially on weekends:-)

Have an amazing week!

Black Butterfly

Hello loves! I hope your new year is off to a fabulous start! I have been so busy that I didn't have a chance to post these photos from December when I took my son out for Christmas brunch. It rarely gets cold enough in Los Angeles to wear winter attire, but when I get the chance, I love to wear gloves, boots and scarves.  Although I really love this time of year, I can already feel spring in the air and the recent wave of 80 degree weather is a hint that it might be time to start pulling out those sundresses I have packed away:-)

If you are wondering about the title of this post, "Black Butterfly" is an old song I have always loved by Deniece Williams.

I am a person that loves bold color, but black on black is always timeless and classic. Do you agree?

I am a woman that loves a little glamour. How about you? I feel like there is something so lady like and sophisticated about gloves.

The right accessories are always the perfect cherry on top to a great look

Another gratuitous shot of my boots, LOL

Do you have any plans for the new year?  Anybody else have holiday hips? I get them every year:-)

Have an amazing week!

Tigress

Hey loves! Happy everything! I have been having a great week. I started celebrating my birthday a couple of weeks ago and it has been fantastic spending time with the people that love me. This has truly been one of my best birthdays yet. Everything in my life is brand new and I LOVE IT!!!!!

Quite a few of you have emailed me to see a full post on the dress I wore to dinner this past weekend. I promise I will post photos of it and some of the looks I wore out to my various birthday celebrations. I have been celebrating my special day with friends and family, but I saved my official birthday for a special celebration with my son and my mom.
We went to a fabulous restaurant and had a great time and it was the cherry on top to the past two weeks of festive celebrations and the good times are far from over.

The ensemble I am wearing is a simple black on black outfit with a peplum top, fitted pants and a statement clutch and jewelry.  I wore this to dinner and it was perfect for an evening out.

black always works
I think the mixed metals I am wearing work so perfectly with the black and tiger print. What do you think?

Top: specialty boutique, pants: Michael Kors, Clutch, DIY, Shoes: BCBG, Necklace: LA Fashion District

I love animal print and tiger print bags is not something I see often, so when I saw this fabric, I knew I had to have a tiger clutch

I'm sort of obsessed with this chain necklace. I love the mixed metals.

Do you like clutch bags?
I hope the rest of your week is absolutely amazing!

Black on Black

Happy Monday loves! I have been having a pretty nice summer. Last week I had another fun birthday celebration and enjoyed a fabulous meal. The cherry on top was being close to the ocean. If you have been following me for awhile, then you know that I am indeed a beachy gal. The beach has always been one of my favorite places on earth and its no coincidence that some of my favorite restaurants are near the coast. do you like the beach?

This outfit I am wearing is what I wore last week when I went to dinner.  If you saw my post on the Penthouse then you caught a brief glimpse of this outfit.  I met up with a friend in late afternoon for Spanish Latte's and this outfit was the perfect transition into an evening dinner with another friend in a chic penthouse restaurant. Although black is not associated with summer, it is always a chic and great color to wear for a night on the town:-)

I have always loved wearing two cuffs. In fact, I have been doing this for years way before it was a trend. My friends used to jokingly call me wonder woman whenever I wore my double cuffs:-) I really don't follow many trends, I just wear what I like and what I know looks good on me. What about you?

Top: gifted, Clutch: DIY, Boots: JC Penney, Cuff bracelets: F-21

I am really loving these cuffs. How do you like them?

I love how flowy this top is and the cut is fun and unexpected. Perfect on its own or layered.

I think a POP of green looks great against black

JC Penney has come a long way baby. I snagged these cute booties at an 80% off sale they were having

Nothing like a little animal print. I quite love it. How about you?

I love these earrings and cannot remember the name of the boutique I got them from. My aunt saw them in a boutique we were in last summer in Louisiana and said she had to get them for me. She is much older, but still quite stylish. She was the hip sexy aunt I wanted to be like when I was a little girl. Do you have an aunt like that?

a little summer breeze:-)
Have an amazing day!
