The Substance of Faith

Hey Loves! Its been a hectic week so far. I hope you enjoyed the Kale Taco recipe from last week. It has been such a busy time and so many great and unexpected opportunities have been presenting themselves to me. It made me ponder the concept of being prepared when an opportunity comes. I have come to the realization that the best protocol is not to get ready, but to STAY READY.
You never know when all the seeds you planted will begin to grow. Sometimes a seed can lie dormant for a very long time and then there is a SUDDENLY moment.

Speaking of things lying dormant, many of you follow me on my other social media platforms and were following my Food Fashion and Flow Facebook page and then I became so focused on my other social media platforms that I neglected the page and before I knew it three years had gone by without one single Facebook page update and then I decided this year to start posting on the page again. When I went there to update, I was astounded at the number of messages from people hungry to see content on the page. Please take a moment to like my page here and then you will be able to see inspirational content every day.

When you plant a seed, you have to water it and make sure it gets some sunlight and then you trust and believe that what you are watering will grow even though you can't see what is happening under the soil. That's what faith looks like. It is trusting what you can't see.
The word of God says: "Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" - Hebrews 11:1

When life doesn't make sense. Look up and rejoice because the answers come from above. In life sometimes our faith is all we have and we have to hold onto it even if those around you don't understand.

The weather recently has been chilly, but it gives me an excuse to wear my fur jacket. I am wearing a palette neutral colors and neutral colors always look perfect.

Unkempt messy hair and don't care. Life gets messy too, but even through messy people and circumstances. Keep the faith

Always remember that a faith walk is never easy

Keep smiling through it all and have a great day!

Orange you glad?

I really really love this time of year. Pumpkin spice latte's, holiday shopping, Christmas and spending time with all of those people that make life a little bit more special. What's not to love?  I am looking forward to the holiday traditions I enjoy every year with my son and lots of good holiday eating. Don't you love a nice holiday sugar fix? I know I do. LOL

I have been staying busy with a number of projects and have been enjoying connecting with friends so that I have some pleasant distractions from work. One of the best distractions is unexpected packages on the doorstep and the anticipation of waiting to open them.  There are a few packages that came last week and I have to fight the urge to rip into those boxes to see what surprises came for me. One more week and I get to open them:-) I still get excited on Christmas morning just like my little one does, but I always  reinforce the true meaning of Christmas so that he always understands that Christmas is about more than receiving gifts. It is about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

This time of year a lot of us focus on dark colors, but those of you that know me, know that I love a burst of color even in the winter. I paired classic neutral colors with  bold orange pants and a touch of animal print.

Do you wear bright colors in the winter?

I am all about comfort when it comes to shoes and love a stylish shoe that won't make my feet hurt. These are pretty comfortable

Have an amazing day!

Mint to Be

Happy Wednesday! How is your week going? I am in need of energy. I have been so tired this week and it could be from the major purging of my closet over the weekend. I usually give clothes away a few times a year, but I felt the need to streamline my closet and get rid of anything that did not make me feel fabulous when I wore it, so as a result of my closet purging, some lucky person will receive a big bag full of cute clothes and accessories:-)

How often do you organize your closet? Do you find that your style is always evolving? Today I am wearing mint and tan and this is a combo that I love to wear. The colors really seem to balance each other out and the tan is a great canvas for the mint green to really stand out. I paired a classic blazer with a flowy top and fitted pants for a look that is simple, classic and stylish. My vintage blazer is from Bergdorf Goodman, courtesy of my aunt in New York who has always shopped like it was a form of exercise:-)

I love this handbag because it is such a stunning color and big enough to fit all of the essentials including those items moms have to carry in their purses for the little ones.

Leopard is always the perfect accent

Blazer: Bergdorf Goodman (old), Top: Zara, Cuff: F-21, Purse: Specialty shop: Shoes: Target

Do you carry big purses?

I love the asymmetrical cut of this top and it is light enough to wear on its own in warm months or layered in colder weather. I find some of the most unique pieces at Zara. Are you a fan of Zara? It is one of my favorite places to shop

Have a great day!

Summer!

Happy Tuesday! and Happy Summer! I was just thinking about how much fun this time of year is because the weather just makes you want to be outside and enjoy all of the beautiful sunshine. I see some picnics in the park and skating at the beach in the near future.

One of the things I love about this time of year there is all of the bold color you don't see any other time of year. And don't all of those bright colors make you happy?

I love to wear my bold color throughout the year. Do you wear bright colors all year long? Or only in summer? Since I recently had a birthday I have been eating a lot of good food the past couple of weeks, I have been really enjoying all of my birthday meals and being spoiled by my friends. Aren't birthdays great?

As much as I love food, I think I overdid it.  I usually don't eat out quite this much, but I don't turn down breakfast, lunch, brunch or dinner invitations, especially when the guest of honor is me!

Today I am wearing neutrals with a bold POP of color from my scarf. I love blazers, especially the one I have on since it goes with everything. I am a repeat offender and have probably worn this blazer a zillion times this year. When I like something, I wear it with as many things as I can. What about you?

I think sometimes the most simple outfit is the most stylish. I love the way a t-shirt looks with a great scarf. My scarf collection is pretty insane, but I started collecting scarves when I was in college and just can't resist them. Do you like scarves? I think they look great with just about anything

Nude colors are the perfect canvas for playing with color. Do you agree?

Blazer: H&M, White T-shirt: H&M, Scarf: Target, Pumps: F-21

Have I told y'all how much I love Target? I got this vibrant beautiful scarf at Target. such great one stop shopping. They have everything! Right? Do you shop at Target?

Since I am remixing my wardrobe and shopping my own closet. I am looking for new color combos. What are some of your favorites?
