Lemonade Restaurant

Lemonade that cool refreshing drink…

Someone took the concept of the old fashioned lemonade stand and created a modern  dining experience by reinventing what it means to eat in a cafeteria setting.  This is not your cafeteria of yesteryear with servers wearing hair nets and dumping slop on your tray, this is a bona fide foodie experience that allows diners to  pick and choose what they want for the ultimate culinary adventure.

You start by grabbing a tray and staring at all of the eye catching selections and then when you are done drooling over everything, just point to what you want and a cheerful server puts it on your tray.  The one issue I found with Lemonade, is that it can be confusing if you have never dined here.  The marketplace salads, hot items and sandwiches are all priced differently and navigating around the restaurant is a  bit tricky, but nothing too difficult to figure out.

Lemonade offers a wide array of seasonal California comfort food in a relaxed casual setting.  All foods are fresh and made from scratch daily with over a dozen innovative marketplace salads.  This is the perfect spot to bring all your vegan friends, as there is a great selection of vegetarian dishes. There are also plenty of flavorful meats to satisfy all of your carnivore cravings.  Over eight varieties of pot roasts are offered, which include the traditional pot roast and other varieties such as barbecued brisket.

And  there are plenty of unique sandwich options to round out your dining experience. Tuna on potato bread with crunchy cucumbers and a green tartar. How is that for delicious? Or, a southwestern club with turkey,  avocado and bacon chipotle mayo. If your taste buds ar a little more tame, they have lots of traditional foods and the servings are generous enough for sharing.

This is just the beginning...

Fresh and seasonally driven produce create all of these amazing salads and side dishes

Seared Ahi and Watermelon Radish Salad with snap peas and black sesame. This is as delicious as it looks. The snap peas were crunchy, the ahi was fresh and the watermelon radish was sweet and vibrant.

I also tried this delicious arugula salad with strawberries and goat cheese. The strawberries added a nice hint of sweetness to the salad.

This pasta salad was delicious and chock full of flavorful asparagus

Balsamic roasted brussel sprouts were very tasty. The balsamic dressing balanced perfectly with the roasted brussel sprouts. I even ate some of the more charred pieces and they were scrumptious.

How is this for temptation? they had me at caramel fleur de sel. Don't even think about passing up the sweet treats.  I am quite sure the macaroons laughed at me as I walked by because I did not have an ounce of willpower.

The pistachio macaroon gets the thumbs up! Light with lots of rich buttercream. Think of the macaroon as the whoopie pies sophisticated cousin:-)  Next time I will try the cupcakes and that red velvet cake that was snickering at me on the way out:-)

Six varieties of lemonade are offered daily: Cucumber Mint, Watermelon Rosemary, Blueberry Mint, Peach Ginger, Arnold Palmer and traditional. I found the cucumber mint delicious and very refreshing. I loved it!

Lemonade provided me with one of the best lunches I have had in a long time. Great food, service and some of the most inventive salads I have ever tasted.  I must warn you about the price, this is not cheap food, but for the quality of what you get, the $12.00 you will more than likely spend on lunch is well worth it. This is a great place to treat yourself  to a healthy meal that actually tastes so amazing, you will forget you are eating healthy. This just might be my new favorite lunch spot:-)

This might be one of yours too once you try it:-). And there are several locations throughout the greater Los Angeles area.
