Since Valentines Day is upon us, I wanted to do a very special post. Today, I am introducing you to the love of my life. My son. He makes everyday bunny rabbits and rainbows:-) There are many kinds of love, but there is nothing like the love between a mother and her child. My son and I are very close and have some great adventures together. I have been documenting his life through pictures since he was a baby, but I decided to make a conscious effort to start documenting all of the amazing adventures we have together through photos.
I think when he gets older, it will be great for him to have all of these wonderful memories with his mom to look back on. As a single mom, I know that my relationship with my son will shape and influence his relationships later in life, so I shower him with love and try to lead by example. I also try to make sure his life is stimulating and enriching by exposing him to as many positive experiences as I can. One of our mom and son traditions is our date night.
I carve time out to take my son to dinner at a nice restaurant on a regular basis and we have dinner and "real conversation." I think our dates give us great bonding time and sets the precedent for great relationships with women now and for the rest of his life. and these experiences cultivate an atmosphere of sharing and shows my son how to be a great communicator. And of course, I want him to know what it is like to dine in places other than the ubiquitous McDonalds. When he is older, he will be a very cultured young man because his mom exposed him to all of these things as a child. We have great fun doing things that are simple and meaningful and creating moments that we will cherish for our entire lives.
We love finding new places to try like this amazing cupcakery in Long Beach. We decided to try out Miss Priss Cupcakes and we were beyond thrilled at how delicious these cupcakes are. I hope you enjoy the photos and my son actually picked out our ensemble. Not bad for four years old, huh? LOL. Yes, I know he is tall for four, but with me being tall and most of the men in my family 6'3 and taller, he didn't have a choice in the matter:-)
This cupcake shop is a hidden gem in Long Beach. If you want to check it out the address is:
4131 Norse Way, Long Beach, CA
LV's ensemble: shirt: Rampage, Boots: Ninewest, Jewelry: F-21 and private label boutique
Kaden's ensemble: Shirt: Burlington Coat Factory, Jeans: Gap
Cupcakes? Yes Please!
So many delectable choices. We tried Red Velvet, Vanilla, Banana and Cookies and Cream. So scrumptious! We definitely should have gotten some to take home:-)
This red velvet was sooooooo good!
Yum!
There is absolutely nothing like a mothers love.
