Skirt as a Dress

Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend! It has been so warm lately and I have really been enjoying this wave of sunshine, which feels very much like the beginning of spring.  With the economy the way that it is, I find myself shopping my own closet or scouring thrift stores for great finds. I would much rather make sure my son has everything even if that means I do more thrifting for myself.  Just a reminder that there is still time to enter the giveaway for the Gabriel studded handbag. Click here for guidelines.  I have some poetic flow coming your way this week, so be sure to stop by later this week.

Today I am wearing a vintage denim jacket I scored from a thirft shop and a skirt that I have had a long time and have never worn.  When I put it on, I wasn't sure how I felt about it, so I refashioned my skirt into a strapless dress and I think I prefer it this way. What do you think?  I am not sure I love this, but I don't think it was a complete fail (LOL)

I really love the way this gold necklace looks against this rust colored dress and blue denim

Denim jacket: Vintage thrifted, Skirt: Burlington Coat Factory:, Purse: Aldo, Snakeskin Boots: DSW

It is not always easy, but every day I pick up my cross and follow God

I hope your day is filled with blessings!

Fabulous as usual! Those boots are KILLER!

I am totally in agreement in shopping my closet more or thrifting to ensure my kids want for nothing. #TeamGreatParents!

Very creative use of the skirt. I think it looks fantastic on you. You've accessorized it perfectly too!

I totally agree that thrift shopping is the way to go. Trouble is I never seem to find anything I can actually fit in there or that is easily and affordably altered. But I "envy" those that can.
