Unwritten...

Hello Beautiful Ones! It is actually a very cold day and I am in one of those reflective philosophical moods. The tile of this post is "Unwritten."  Each day my life unfolds in ways I never planned and sometimes that's just how life is and you have to embrace it. I love the lyrics to the song "unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield.  And I want to share some of them with you in case you have never heard this song:

"I am  unwritten, can't read my mind I'm undefined
I'm just beginning, the pen's in my hand, ending unplanned
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten
Reaching for something in the distance
so close you can almost taste it
release your inhibitions"

The lyrics are powerful and for me they have special meaning and I know that I am not the only one living life in a way I never would have planned it. The wonderful thing about life is that you get a fresh start every single day.  Life is abut taking chances and risks even if they make sense to no one but you.

Today I am wearing a sarong as a scarf. This is my itty bitty sizzling sexy sarong that I wear to the beach in the summer. I had actually thought about retiring this sarong after a friend told me that I had no business wearing anything like that since I am a mom and I was no spring chicken. And then I thought about the ridiculous limits others try to place on us and that we place on ourselves.

And then I stared at this sarong. And then I stared at this sarong some more and then I got mad and started mumbling..."Who is she to tell me I can't wear this sarong, hmmph. forget her" and then I got a serious sistah girl attitude and threw it around my neck and Voila! a brand new look with my itty bitty sarong repurposed into a sassy scarf giving my conservative blazer just the right amount of panache. This is what style is about, it is about sprinkling your own unique flavor on whatever you wear.

Embrace living outside the lines. Be different. When you learned to color as a child, do you remember how proud you were to color even when your tries went outside the lines? When we get older, sometimes we lose that. Embrace your creativity! Here is my sexy sarong that i am wearing as a scarf:-)
Scarf: Gazpati Imports, Blazer: Windsor: Jeans: Macys, Purse: Derreon, Shoes: F-21, Bracelet: New York Street Vendor
Have an amazing day! and remember, the only limits are the ones your put on yourself.

I also love how you discussed coloring outside the lines as a child and be excited about it. I agree we do lose that as an adult. We have to remember it is okay to be different and bold.
