I have read your emails and comments about hearing more of my poetic flow, so I wanted to post something special today. I wanted to start off by telling you about the book I read more than any other book in my collection. My Bible. This book has drama, scandal, intrigue, pearls of wisdom and is the quintessential manual for living the right way. I try to follow this amazing guide to living and do everything the bible says. I really try, but I have to be real and tell you that sometimes I fail. Yes, sometimes I fail.
Miserably.
But that doesn't stop me from trying.
I love God and I love his words. The Poem I am about to share with you is about this book having words so powerful that it is like a good meal. The words are so good...that I want to eat them.
And now here is my poetic flow:
I want to Eat Your Words
I want to eat your words
Let them stimulate my taste buds
And wake up with the flavor on my tongue
I want to eat your words
And let them simmer in
The oven of my spirit
Then breathe the aroma on my enemies
I want to eat your words
Till they taste like
Peach cobbler and ice cream
Served by the Virgin Mary in the sanctuary
I want to eat your words and watch my spirit rise
Like bread
Till your scent runs around the corner
And folks line up just for a taste
I want to eat your words like
They were the last entree
In the buffet line
I want to eat your words
Digest them in my soul
And defecate the remains on
My enemies
I want to swallow your words whole
Then regurgitate
Psalms, proverbs and parables
I want to eat your words
And then lick my fingers
To get the last drop of anointing from my plate
I want to eat your words till they blend
With my own
To form rhythms and sounds
Laced with holy spirits, cherubs and the ethereal music of my soul
I want to eat your words
To lift me up above my trouble and
End my weariness
I want to eat your words
Until I am full
Eat
Savor
Digest

Wow, LV, powerful piece. Is is a beautiful prayer. Who knew that the word "defecate" could be in such a beautiful poem? Thank you for your boldness in sharing. God bless your soul. I'm off to read the Bible now!
I was touched and inspired. So true, we sometimes missed and failed to read the holy bible. I wish I can read it here. I'm a nurse in KSA and bibles are not allowed in the Kingdom. Thanks for this. I was enlightened and reconnected once again. :) I'm your new follower. I'll be glad if you'll follow me back. Thanks for dropping by. God bless you.
