The Yellow Vase (LV's LA)

I love a great cup of coffee and I love beautiful places. Paint that with a yellow paint brush and ocean breezes and you have "The Yellow Vase." This bright cozy eatery is adorned with bright yellow flowers, yellow walls and decor that feels bright and cheery.

I discovered this South Bay eatery during my nature walks and jogs around the Palos Verdes Peninsula more than a decade ago. There are now a few more locations around the South Bay area.  I like a little ocean with my food and this  beachy gal  always loves a great spot by a scenic body of water. This cute coffee shop eatery is a nice place to sit and enjoy coffee while you hear waves crash and is a great backdrop to have a cappuccino and a treat with friends or a light lunch or dinner. I have been to all of the locations and enjoy each one for different reasons, but they are all in beach communities, so you can't go wrong with any of the locations.

Everything is yellow and bright:-)

The french toast comes warm with a dusting of powdered sugar and a side of maple syrup. The turkey and avocado panini shown at the beginning of the post and many of the other items are tasty, but what keeps me coming back is the delicious coffee and the view of the ocean. I much prefer the drinks over the food. The newest location is not as close to the water, but still has a great vibe and is relaxing and cozy.

This is the perfect spot if you want to be hidden
away and enjoy some solitude and it is just as great for gathering with a few friends

Fresh flowers are always the perfect touch to a
great dining experience

I can never resist a good red velvet cupcake

Delicious vanilla latte

Delicious coffee, teas, cappucino, latte's and the ocean breeze around you. What's not to love?

Terrenea Sunday Brunch Review (LV's LA)

Exquisite food, first class service and 180 degree views of the pacific ocean and Catalina Island are the perfect recipe for an amazing Sunday Brunch. The ambiance at Terrenea is second to none and the crisp ocean breezes will relax and soothe you.

With sunlight streaming into the Catalina Kitchen entryway, palm trees dancing in the periphery and ocean breezes all around. I knew it was going to be an amazing experience. This beautiful entryway is just the beginning...

And this gorgeous area overlooking the ocean, is where you enjoy an amazing brunch. There is also an indoor dining area, but with this view, who would want to stay indoors?

And the food! oh the food...

Breakfast favorites like Fluffy Belgian waffles, eggs made to order  inventive omelets and a wide array of delicious hot foods such as grilled chicken and salmon make for a well rounded experience.  The chilled seafood bar with oysers on the half shell, crab legs and fresh shrimp was a great complement to the fresh salad station made with local incgredients.   A bounty of fresh fruit included pineapple, strawberries, blackbereios, raspberry, honeydew and cantaloupe.

The artisan cheese selection had a great selection of familiar and unusual cheeses and the dessert choices made me want to have dessert first. There were so many delectable choices. The beet salad was amazing, as were the imported Kalamata olives. The breakfast potatoes, a melange of white russet, blue potatoes and sweet potatoes was outstanding!

Service was exceptional. Friendly staff, free flowing mimosas, Bellini's and as much freshly brewed coffee as I could stand. My Bellini glass was never empty thanks to the gracious host that took great care of me and my friend throughout brunch.

The view here and the vibe is spectacular

The best part of waking up, is coffee in your cup:-)

Freshly squeezed OJ

A nice sparkling Mimosa

Everything is better with bacon

Breakfast sausage

Freshly baked croissants. Buttery, flaky, delicious!

Who can resist a fresh glazed doughnut? certainly not me:-)
Blueberry Scones

 Lots of farm fresh fruit

Fresh tomatoes! Lots of great veggie options if you are Vegan/Vegetarian
Beet Salad
Potato Melange of white, blue and sweet ptoatoes
 Crispy vegetarian springrolls
 Crab legs
 Fresh Shrimp
 Oyster on the half shell
 Fresh Asparagus

Salmon

 So many delicious cheeses

Italian delicacies

Nothing like fresh baked pizza

 Sushi anyone?

Fresh Wasabi and Ginger

Fresh berries. Very sweet and delicious!
Creamy mashed potatoes, asparagus and grilled salmon

How about dessert?

 so many delicious choices

Passion fruit cheesecake and Key Lime Pie

And here is the incriminating evidence. A full dessert plate. And yes, I tried everything  This is certainly a great Los Angeles spot to enjoy a scenic and scrumptious Sunday Brunch. I highly recommend it!
