Stripes

Hey loves, hope you are having a good summer. It seems like it is going by so fast. Enjoying the milder weather because it is so much better to have blue skies and warm sunshine without scorching heat. My ensemble includes a mix of stripes bold coral and neutral colored pants. I have always loved stripes, dots and leopard and always find a way to incorporate them into my style.

I love these shoes and it is rare to find a closed toe strappy shoe.
I have had this blazer for quite some time and of course I snagged it from the sales rack at Old Navy. It looks like a typical blazer in the front, but has some unique gathering in the back of the jacket.
I am reflecting on what a great weekend I had. I went to a concert and had a great time with a good friend. It reminds me that no matter how busy we get, it is important to take a little time to enjoy ourselves. Don't you agree?
This clutch was made by a friend and I and it is reversible and can be worn white and black or black and white. Truly a versatile piece. I love it!
It's been a minute since I posted a recipe, but I am really enjoying all the great produce available in the summer months, so I will be sharing some great salad recipes with you

So much going on this summer, but enjoying every bit of it

 Have an amazing week!

Feeling Orange

Happy Thursday loves! Almost forgot to post this week. Actually today it is a scorching 91 degrees, so the outfit I am wearing was worn before this heatwave. I am actually packing away my fur because it looks like it is time to break out my cute spring and summer outfits:-)  This weekend I am planning to celebrate my sons birthday and planning to have a blast with him on his spring break next week. That means nonstop fun and of course with me and my foodie in training, lots of good eats!

Since my son's officially birthday will take place on spring break, I had planned on taking cupcakes to his school like I usually do and his teacher told me that bringing treats was not allowed in her class because it makes  the other kids whose parents don't do it for their birthdays, feel bad. So she has one big birthday celebration at the end of the year for the whole class. I was a little bummed that I couldn't bring cupcakes, but my little guy still has a great celebration coming this weekend that will knock his socks off:-)

Loving the nice weather, but I can do without 91 degrees. For me 75-80 is perfect weather. Not too hot and not too cold.

I keep wanting to get back to my regular posting schedule because I have so many great recipes to post and great restaurants to share with you, but since I am so busy these days, one post a week might be my new normal until things slow down a little.

Have a great week!

Black Diamond

Happy Thursday! Fall is in the air. It is still just a bit warm, but definitely a little crisp breeze in the air letting me know that the season for baking cookies and other winter treats is here:-)

I was just thinking about how amazing women are and how much it saddens me when women feel the need to compete with each other, or when women allow jealousy or envy of another woman  get in the way of what could be a great friendship, whether it is friends or family. Every woman is beautiful and every woman has something special that makes her uniquely her.

Every woman is a diamond with her own color, cut and clarity.

Sometimes the clarity at which you sparkle draws others to you and it makes others hate you and they really don't know why.  The sparkle you have can not be duplicated because it is yours. What they don't understand is that the sparkle is inside of you and radiates to the outside. When you are full of light you can't help but sparkle. It's your birth right. You don't have to say a word. You just walk into a room and there is light. When you cross paths with someone with that same inner light, your kinetic energy will draw you to each other like magnets.

And then for some your light will shine too bright and they will flee. Ever notice how little critters scatter when the lights come on. Don't fret. Just stand there and sparkle. Embrace it.

Shine
The brightest sparkle and light we can have comes from our creator. When we reflect God in all we say and do, we shine the brightest:-)

Leopard and Butterflies

Happy Tuesday! I have been having such a great summer and if you have been checking out my food posts, you know I have been making great use of all the fresh berries this season. One of the great things about living in Los Angeles is all of the amazing farmers markets and the abundance of fresh produce. The weather here can't be beat, but sometimes I wish I could wear some of those beautiful winter coats I have, but it does not get cold enough to justify wearing them most of the time.

Today's look is one that I wear quite often. Jeans and a classic blazer with a great pair of shoes. It is very easy to put together and a timeless look. The pumps I am wearing are sky but because of the platform they are comfortable.
I do not wear heels this high all the time, but when the shoes are comfortable and easy to walk in, I don't mind.  I paired the leopard print with a coral blazer and a blue palette. I think the colors complement each other in a great way. What do you think?

Blazer: Old Navy, Camel T-Shirt: Macys, Scarf: Fashion District:, Purse: Handbag Heaven, Shoes: Target, Necklace: F-21

F-21 is a great place to get accessories.

I am still in love with this bag even after having it for years. The gold hardware and the rich navy color make it such a versatile bag.

Do you wear heels all the time?   As much as I love them I don't wear them every day. I don't think there is anything cute about walking like your feet hurt.
I have been known to carry a pair of slippers or flats in my purse and have no shame in taking off shoes that hurt my feet and swapping them with something comfortable. Fortunately, these pumps are very kind to my feet even though the heel is high. Platform shoes are so comfortable and make it possible to wear a much higher heel than you might normally wear. Do you like platforms?

For those of you who have been with me awhile, you know that this butterfly ring is symbolic for me. A few years back I went through some challenges and then once I got past them, some of my friends were saying that my evolution reminded them of a butterfly or the story of the Phoenix.

The first thing I noticed about this blazer was the vibrant color and the gathers in the back

There is just something about a animal print shoes. Grrrrrrr...
Have a great day!
